Aims of study of educational discipline

Final aims of discipline:

• To conclude about physical and psychical development of children of a different age.

• To conduct the clinical and instrumental examination of different organs and systems at healthy and sick children.

• To analyze the age features of functions of organism.

• To interpret the condition of the systems of organism of child.

• To estimate and compose daily nutritional ration for the children of early age.

• To compose the nutritional ration for children after one year.

Module 2: Anatomic and physiologic features, methods of examination and semiotics of diseases in children.

1.

Method of clinical neurological examination of children. Semiotics of basic nervous diseases in children (Hydrocephaly, meningitis, encephalitis, children's cerebral paralysis (cerebral palsy) and other). Features of liquor in children and semiotics of its changes at pathology (at purulent and serous meningitis, hydrocephaly and other). Care of children with pathology of the nervous system

Method of examination of skin and subcutaneous adipose tissue. Semiotics of defeats of skin and subcutaneous tissue. Method of examination of skeletal and muscular systems. Semiotics of defeats of skeletal and muscular systems.

Method of clinical examination of respiratory organs in children. Semiotics of disorders (cough, shortness of breath and other) and basic diseases of respiratory system in children. Syndromes of respiratory disorders and respiratory failure, basic clinical manifestations.

Method of inspection, palpation, percussion and auscultation of cardiovascular system at children. Basic symptoms of disorders of cardiovascular system in children (cyanosis, bradycardia, tachycardia and other). Semiotics of congenital and acquired heart diseases in children. Electrocardiography, phonocardiography, sonocardiography.

Method of clinical examination of digestive system (inspection, palpation, percussion, auscultation). Semiotics of disorders of organs of digestion and basic diseases in children. Abdominal syndrome.

Semiotics of microscopic changes of urinary sediment (protein-, erythrocyte-, leukocyte- and cylinderuria and other). Syndrome of acute and chronic kidney failure. Care of patients with pathology of the urinary system.

Method of examination of endocrine glands. Semiotics of syndromes of hyper- and hypofunction of separate endocrine glands and diseases of the endocrine system in children.

Module 3: Feeding of children

1.

Natural feeding of babies. Quantitative and qualitative composition of human milk. Methods of calculation of day's volume of meal and diet. Weaning and correction of feeding. Day's necessity of child in food ingredients and energy.

Artificial feeding of babies. Classification and characteristic of milk formulas for the artificial feeding of babies. Guarantee cow milk. Technique of the artificial feeding and criteria of estimation of its efficiency. Weaning and correction of feeding at the artificial feeding.
