cough -verb - to give sth, especially money, unwillingly:

dinkies – noun - couples with a double income and no kids

director – noun - a person who is in charge of a particular activity or department in a company, an organization, etc:

He was appointed finance director of British Aerospace in 1992. She became director of finance at the company.

downmarket -adjective - designed for or used by large numbers of customers who have less money; cheap and of poor quality:

a downmarket fashion chain The company is starting to lose its downmarket image.

ethnic minorities – noun - the activity of collecting and analysing information about the race of all the employees in a company or an organization to check that all races are present in a fair way

feminine - adjective - acting, or having qualities which are traditionally considered to be suitable for a woman:

With his long dark eyelashes, he looked almost feminine.The current style in evening wear is soft, romantic and feminine.Her clothes are always very feminine.

functional -adjective - having a special purpose:

Any project can be broken down into different functional roles. The tools are treated with a functional coating to make them wear resistant.

glamorous - adjective - attractive in an exciting and special way:

a glamorous woman/outfit; a glamorous job; She was looking very glam.

green market - noun - marketing that tries to present a product or company as not harmful to the environment:

Green marketing often uses terms like ‘recyclable’, ‘refillable’ and ‘biodegradable’. They claimed that oil companies had spent more on green marketing campaigns than on cleaning up their operations.

launched – noun – to introduce a product to the market.

luxurious – adjective - very comfortable and expensive:

They have a very luxurious house.We spent a luxurious weekend at a country hotel.

masculine - adjective - having characteristics that are traditionally thought to be typical of or suitable for men

rough -noun - not exact; not including all details:

slogan – noun - a short phrase

target market – noun - group of people that the company wants to buy the product

through - preposition - as a result of:

The company lost the order through production delays.

tough - adjective - difficult to do or to deal with:

They've had an exceptionally tough life. They will be a tough team to beat. The company is going through a tough time at the moment.

yuppies – noun - young urban professionals with a high income

upmarket - adjective - designed for or used by people who belong to a high social class; expensive and of good quality:

a maker of upmarket food products
