Our university

We are students of thе Federal state institution of higher professional education “Moscow State University of Culture and Arts”. It is one of the biggest centers of national education in the sphere of culturology and Library education, social and cultural activity, folk culture and art. The university works under Federal Agency of Culture and Cinematography.

The university organizes its activity according to the “Development Strategy of Moscow University of Culture and Arts for 2003 - 2007”, adopted by the university Academic Board and detailed Program of its realization.

MSUCA educates highly qualified professionals for the sphere of culture and arts who will establish humanistic values of national and world culture.

The university carries out educational, scientific, cultural, etc. activities in a wide range of humanitarian sciences. It trains specialists in different programs of higher, pre-university and postgraduate education as well as further professional education.

During the Great Patriotic War (1941-1945) a lot of professors, students and staff members went to the front and the institute building served as hospital. At that time Sterlitamach branch of Moscow State Library Institute (MSLI) was of great importance. But teaching process went on in Moscow as well and 12 candidate dissertations were defended and a number of graduations were made in war years. A memorial was put up near the institute to commemorate those professors and students who gave their lives for our Motherland.

Students take active part in recearch work. They make reports at annual inter-university and all-Russia conferences, participate in different contests and have an opportunity to be published in scientific journals.

Now the university is improving its training process through attracting highly-qualified specialists and wide introduction of innovative and computer techniques.

But the main attraction, no doubt, is London places of interest. Among them there are: Westminster Abbey, the Houses of Parliament, Buckingham Palace, St Paul&rsquo-s Cathedral, London Bridge, the Tower of London.&nbsp- On the Houses of Parliament one can see the famous Tower Clock Big Ben, the symbol of London. Big Ben is the real bell which strikes every quarter of an hour. Another place which you can admire is Buckingham Palace. It&rsquo-s the residence of the Queen. London is also famous for its beautiful parks. Hyde Park is the most democratic park in the world, as anyone can say anything he likes there. Regent&rsquo-s Park is the home of London Zoo.

Visiting this country, don’t forget about its natural attractions such as the Highlands, Loch Ness, where some people think a large monster lives and the Lake District, the place, associated with the history of English literature.
