Departure from each country always takes place at the same time UTC (Table 2).
Stay at each country – 7 days from the moment of arrival.
If the country is small and have very few places worth sightseeing, the stay there should be reduced to three days. The trip should not, however, exceed total time of eight weeks.
2. Travel planing
Identifying the Order of Places to be Visited According to the Route
The order of places, stops at each of them are identified on the basis of following one direction all the time. The departure point is the destination point at the same time as the trip is round trip.
On the outline map, mark your variant of the route identifying:
Information from the travel form;
Names of countries;
Borders of these countries;
Points of departure/destination.
With arrows show the route of trip (from the west to the east or from the east to the west). Link the cities of the travel plan in the way so you could avoid heading backwards!
In planning the travel political situation and geographical constraints should be taken account of.
The choice of transport mode (air, railway, maritime or road) needs to have clear grounds stated in the paper
Filling out the Travel Form
The student fills out the Travel Form (Appendix 4) that is used by the travel agencies based on the travel plan and the student’s variant (Table 1,2). The date and time in the Travel Form should be indicated in UTC and local time.
Don’t use abbreviations in the Travel Form!
If there is a great quantity of places to be visited according to the variant, use the second Travel Form for additional information.
In case of transit stop for aircraft refueling, it is necessary to provide visa support for passengers in the countries of refueling.
Overview of General and Guest Countries
According to the Travel Plan
Mark on the outline map the cities and places of interest for the countries identified by the variant. Denote which type of transport will be used for transportation to the destination points.
Apart from that, each country (taken separately) should be given short overview as in the table 3 below:

Give more details about the places of interest of the country and its transport system (describe the level of development for each transport mode – railway, road, maritime, internal waterway, air and pipeline transport).
On the outline map, mark the main ports, airports, railway lines and road mainlines of the countries under investigation.
3. CALCULATION OF TIME FOR EACH ROUTE STAGE.
iDENTIFYING HAULING DISTANCE AND SPEED
OF TRANSPORTATION
Using the map for Transport Industry in the geographic atlas of the world, denote the distance between the points of departures and arrivals on the route at the scale of the map.
Airlines employed for transportation (acc. to Appendix 5 and Appendix 6) need to be identified.
The calculations should be given in the paper and the results presnted in the form of Table 4 below.

For aviation transport, the aircraft types are the following: Il-62, Tu-154, B-737, B-757, B-767, A-310, A-320. Using the tables of aircraft speed range, define the speed of transportation over the route (Appendix 7).
If you choose another transport mode the distance between transit points is defined according to the length of transport network of the given transport mode marked on the map. Speed of transportation for transport modes is the following:
|
80 km/h; 60 km/h; 40 km/h; 40 km/h; |
The results of calculation should be presented in the Table 5 below:
