Preface

The process of development of the Ukrainian state, economic reform leads to the importance of higher education in society, whose main goal is the comprehensive development of man as a personality and the highest value, formation of citizens able to make a conscious public choice.

Growth of requirements for training masters as specialists of a particular profile in accordance with inclinations of students and needs of the national economy requires the development of scientific bases of higher education pedagogy taking into account the specificity of training and educational activities of higher educational institutions .

In connection with this the course "Teaching Methods in Higher Education" includes the disclosure of general principles of higher education pedagogy, theory of teaching and education of students , management of educational process in higher education, as well as the essence , the content and the task of learning process, methods , forms and means of its organization, modern educational technologies.

Goals and Objectives of discipline “Methods of teaching in higher education”, its place in the educational process

The purpose of the discipline "Methods of teaching in higher education"

The purpose of discipline "Methods of teaching in higher education” is to prepare masters for teaching in higher education based on modern pedagogical theory and practice, acquaintance with methods of teaching subjects in high school, methodology of development of instructional materials for teaching and forming skills of conducting classes.

The main tasks of the discipline are:

• familiarization with legislative acts of Ukraine on higher education and the concept of adaptation of Ukrainian higher education to the European Higher Education Area;

• the formation of students- masters the scientific world outlook and methodology of educational activities , their professional competence;

• students mastering of basic forms, methods and techniques of the educational process, their optimal use;

• students’ mastering of higher education teaching specificity, particularly in the sphere of management and economic education;

• general education and professional culture of the future high school teacher.

Core competencies which students of magistracy should get in the process of course study:

• professional knowledge of educational activities foundations, didactics of high school, traditional and innovative forms of learning and teaching technologies, scientific organization of high school teachers work, the peculiarities of the management and economic education;

• professional skills of preparing and holding lectures, seminars (practice) sessions, use of active teaching methods, organization of independent and research work of students and assessment of student learning;

• psychological competence as knowledge of psychological characteristics of students, teacher’s interaction with them, ability to communicate;

• formation of optimal creativity, high productivity of work;

• striving for improving, achieving the highest professional skills.

The methodology of studying the discipline and evaluating students' knowledge is based on individually differentiated, learner-oriented form of self-education of students and the requirements of credit-modular system.

The course "Teaching Methods in Higher Education" is taught taking into account the knowledge of masters in humanitarian and economic disciplines, management.

DISCIPLINE "METHODS OF TEACHING IN HIGHER EDUCATION"

METHODS, TOOLS, FORMS OF ORGANISATION AND TECHNOLOGIES OF STUDIES IN HIGHER SCHOOL UNDER REQUIREMENTS OF CREDIT-MODULE SYSTEM OF EDUCATIONAL PROCESS ORGANISATION

Content module 1. The system of higher education in Ukraine in the context of European Higher Education Area formation. Didactic principles of managerial and economic staff training in the system of higher education.

Education of Ukraine as a part of world and European Higher Education Area. Conceptual trends of higher education development in Ukraine. The state policy in higher education field. National doctrine of education development in Ukraine in ХХІ century. The tasks of improving higher education in Ukraine in the context of the Bologna process and forming the European Higher Education Area.

Regulatory and legal framework for higher education in Ukraine: laws of Ukraine”On Education”, “On Higher Education”, "On scientific and technical activity", other normative documents, that regulate the activity of higher education in Ukraine. Public-state model of education in Ukraine.

The higher education system in Ukraine. The concept of higher education, its structure. Educational and educational – qualification levels of higher education. State standards of education: education, educational qualification characteristics, regulatory and selective parts of education.

The concept of training of administrative and economic personnel. Competence and personality education and the mission of a modern university.
