The university campus [‘kæmpəs] (территория университета/колледжа вместе со всеми учебными и вспомогательными постройками на ней) consists of number of (big, etc.) buildings, including ... (the teaching block, libraries, sports halls and hostels).

The overall number of students studying at the university in the day-time, evening and extra-mural (correspondence) departments is ... thousand. Most of them live ... Text 2

Engineers are trained at different technical higher schools. Any technical university trains engineers of different specialities.

The course of studies lasts 5 years. There are several faculties at every technical university as well as general and special chairs. General chairs deliver (читать) lectures, hold seminars, give laboratory works and practical lessons. Philosophy, economics, foreign languages and other subjects are taught at the institute.

Special chairs train students of different specialities, deliver lectures, carry out research work, practical training and so on. When the students graduate from the technical university they will be engineers and will get interesting work in different parts of the country.
