Контрольна робота №1

Варіант 1

Для виконання контрольної роботи необхідно засвоїти такі теми з граматики:

• Іменник. Множина.

• Прикметник. Ступені порівняння прикметників. Конструкції типу the more…the less ,much more interesting.

• Числівники.

• Конструкція there is (are).

• Форма теперішнього (Present), минулого (Past) та майбутнього (Future) часів групи Indefinite. Відмінювання дієслів to be, to have в Present, Past і Future Indefinite.

Завдання 1. Прочитайте та зробіть письмовий переклад тексту.

Our University

The Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design is comparatively young higher school both in Ukraine and in Europe. It was only 75 in the year 2005 while the other schools of Europe and Ukraine are more than one thousand. Nevertheless our University having separated from the Kyiv Polytechnic institute was developing and strengthening and in the long run has become the famous scientific and educational center not only in Ukraine but for beyond the country.

The building ensemble of the University is situated in the central district Pechersky of the capital of Ukraine, the city of Kyiv.

The Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design numbers more than 15.000 students, 6 faculties, 40 departments, 6 academic buildings, 7 hostels, sport complex, canteen, cafe, experimental workshops, etc.

The faculties of the University are: design department, light industry technologies department, technological equipment and automated control systems department, chemical technologies department, technology-economic department, extra-mural studies, external training form, individual training and pre-university training, foreign students training department.

The most teachers in the stuff are highly qualified (professors, doctors of sciences, academicians).

Modern laboratories, one of the largest libraries in Kyiv and good sport facilities are at students’ disposal. The students are engaged in research from their first year in societies, design bureaus, scientific circles at each department of the University.

The university is proud of its graduates who have taken up posts of ministers, director chief engineers of enterprises, managers of institutions and organizations not only in Ukraine but in more than 50 countries of the world.

Завдання 2. Перекладіть українською мовою наступні слова та вирази із тексту. Будьте готові до контролю лексики.

To separate from, to develop, to strengthen, to be situated, to number, to include, faculty, department, experimental workshop, equipment, training, foreign, to be trained, full-graduate student, graduates, sports facilities, to be at somebody’s disposal, to be engaged in research, scientific circles, to be proud of, to take up, enterprise.

Завдання 3. Утворіть множину від поданих нижче іменників у однині.

Director, engineer, country, branch, box, wife, woman, foot, root, boy.

Завдання 4. Перепишіть наступні речення, що містять різні форми порівняння. Перекладіть їх українською мовою.

1. This play is much more interesting than that one.

2. Eva’s dress is more fashionable than mine.

3. She speaks much less than I do.

4. Liz worked harder than John.

5. Are you as tall as your brother?

6. The more you study, the better you know the subject.

Завдання 5. Прочитайте, перекладіть та напишіть ступені порівняння таких прикметників:

Happy, wonderful, big, old, simple, bad, slowly, slow, difficult, fashionable.

Завдання 6. Прочитайте та запишіть переклад речень. Складіть та запишіть по одному питанню до кожного речення.

1. He is a chief engineer at this plant.

2. They will be well-known scientists.

3. I am a first-year student.

4. We were students of this University.

5. It is a light industry department.

6. He was a professor at the design department.

7. It will be a lecture next week.

Завдання 7. Прочитайте та перекладіть речення.

1. There are many good facilities at students’ disposal.

2. There were only 6.000 students in 2000.

3. How many buildings are there in building ensemble of the University?

4. Is there any new department in your University?

5. Are there many foreign students in the University?

Завдання 8. Прочитайте наступні речення, визначте в них видо-часові форми дієслів і вкажіть їх інфінітив; перекладіть речення українською мовою.

1. Our University numbers more than 12.000 students.

2. All students translate the text with dictionary.

3. Our History lecturer always gives us very useful information.

4. She has excellent marks.

5. These students took an active part in scientific research.

6. The conference began last Monday.

7. Some graduates took up posts of ministers, directors, and chief engineers.

8. We had a very important workshop last week.

9. They will enter our University.

10. Our group will take examinations twice a year.

11. Next week some students of our group will take part in competitions.

12. I will go to the library after classes.

Завдання 9. Прочитайте та перекладіть текст. Спираючись на інформацію подану в тексті, вирішіть, які ствердження відповідають дійсності(+), а які містять невірну інформацію(-).

1. More than one million British people study at the universities.

2. There are three first degrees.

3. The best students are awarded Honors.

4. To get the second degree they conduct research work.

5. The Doctor of Philosophy is the highest degree.
