1.Important images of the 20 century.

One of the most important event of last century was The Great Patriotic War. It broke out on the 22nd of June, 1941.This war concerned every soviet family. And I am proud, that our country won the Great Patriotic War against a powerful enemy.

The people of the world should remember that our country played the main role in the victory over fascism. We lost 27 million of our people and saved the world from fascism. We should never forget those who gave their lives for our Motherland.

One of the most interesting and significant figure of 20 century was Yuri Gagarin. His feat knows everybody. On April 12, 1961 the spaceship "Vostok", piloted by Yuri Gagarin went up. He orbited the Earth only once, staying in space for 108 minutes. Mankind will always remember him. A new era of man's exploration of outer space began. Yuri Gagarin's flight opened the door into the Universe.

The technical progress touched all fields: medicine, cosmonautics, information technologies, education and others. Among important innovations are gadgets that simplify our everyday life: TV, PC, mobile telephones, MP3 players, micro ovens, vacuum cleaners, washers. I can hardly imagine my live without mobile telephone and PC that help to communicate with friends, search all the necessary information every day.

Computers also appeared in 20 century. They have opened up a new era in manufacturing and have enhanced modern communication systems. They are essential tools in almost every field of research, from constructing models of the universe to producing tomorrow's weather reports. Using of different databases and computer networks make available a great variety of information sources.

Also I want to mention about negative innovations in the field of weapons. In the middle of 20th century besides the great amount of new weapons were invented the nuclear weapons the use of which let to huge catastrophe.

2. Healthy food

All food consists of nutrients (пит. веществ) which are used by our organism. There are various kinds of nutrients: carbohydrates(угл), proteins(белки), fats(жиры), vitamins and mineral substances. The healthy food contains correct balance of these substances.

It is necessary to know that we require the fat very much, we need fat to live, it's an essential part of our diet and physically we couldn't exist without it. However, to eat much fat is bad for our health. The matter is that there are different kinds of fat. There are fats that are good for us and fats that are bad for us. Bad fats are the saturated fats, found in animal productions, like red meat, butter and cheese. Friendly fats are the unprocessed (необраб) fats found naturally in foods like nuts and seeds (семенах), olives, avocados and oily fish, including tuna. Besides, when food is cooked, its structure changes. It can change the vitamin and nutrient contents of food.

There are a lot of approaches to the system of healthy nourishment in the world. It’s becoming more and more popular nowadays to follow some interesting and at times amazing diets (the protein diet, the carbohydrate diet); nourishment systems for example the system of separate nourishment; programs of modern nutritionists and dietitians; or to be the follower of some national Indian system like vegetarianism or to refuse to eat the dead food of poor animals.

I tried to keep to a diet two or three times. And I lost some weight . However, I have understood, that not a diet – the main thing, but a lifestyle. I mean the correct and regular food, a healthy dream, and physical culture.

I would recommend to the obese person some things. Its nessesary to get into the habit of checking the ingredients and nutritional value on the sides of packets although this isn't always easy to do. And also there are main rules to follow for healthy eating:

-we should eat less fat, particularly saturated fat. -we are to cut down on sugar and salt. - we must eat more fresh fruit and vegetables.

- avoid eating fast food every day

- don’t eat ketchup and mayonnaise that provoke the growth of appetite

- drink pure water instead of innumerous cups of coffee
