1. Глагол-связка -to be- имеет в настоящем времени 3 формы (этот глагол спрягается):

Глагол -to be- является очень важным в английском языке, так как он является не только глаголом-связкой, но и вспомогательным глаголом для образования временных и видовых форм.
Он используется в различных словосочетаниях, таких как:
to be upset - расстроиться
to be busy - быть занятым
to be late - опоздать
to be afraid of - бояться
to be ill - болеть и др.
Он также используется:
1) для сообщения информации о ком-либо (чём-либо): возрастная деятельность, национальность, имя, семейное положение и т.д.

2. Утвердительные предложения имеют прямой порядок слов: подлежащее + сказуемое + дополнение + обстоятельство.

Отрицательные предложения с глаголом -to be- имеют следующую форму:

Вопросительные предложения строятся следующим образом:
1) общий вопрос: Is Jack a student? Yes, he is.

2) альтернативный вопрос:

3) специальный вопрос:
Who is a student? Jack is.
Why are you at home? I’m ill.

4) разделительный вопрос (не так ли?):
