|
Active
|
Passive |
Indefinite
|
playing |
being played |
Perfect |
having played |
having been played
|
Participle I Indefinite Active and Passive
When looking at them, I can’t help laughing.
When looking at them, I can’t help laughing.
When looking at them, you will laugh.
She liked to walk slowly the road leading to the lake.
Participle I Perfect Active and Passive
Having discussed all the details of the matter, they changed the subject of their conversation.
С некоторыми глаголами чувственного восприятия и движения (to see, to hear, to come, to arrive, to turn, etc.) вместо Participle I Perfect используется Participle I Indefinite.
Hearing his voice we decided to hide away.
When watching news on TV he doesn’t notice anybody.
Being disturbed he was very angry.
Having read the letter he put it aside.
Having been taught music by the best composers abroad he was very famous in his own country
e.g. a broken window, a written letter.
e.g. faded grass, a wintered flower.
