Interview for employment in English

Interview for employment in various organizations can pass completely differently. In one company, it may take about 10 minutes in the other - is a few hours of intense communication.

In any case, you need to make a good impression and show an excellent knowledge of the language.

The first impression that you created at the entrance to the office can have a big impact on the results of the interview. You must keep a calm, confident and friendly. When you talk about the company in which you are working on at the moment, you must use now (Present Continuous or Present Perfect Continuous):

I have been employed by ABC company the for the last 6 years as a salesperson.

When you talk about your previous experience is necessary to use the past tense:

I was employed by Jackson's from 1989 to 1992 as a clerk.

All questions asked by your potential employer during the interview can be divided into the following groups:

Opening questions

Why are you interested in our company? What you are interested in our company?

Why did you come to this country? Why did you move to?

What are your objectives in this field? What are your goals in this area?

Experience in work

What special aspects of your experience have prepared you for this job? What features of previous work prepared you for this job?

Can you describe one or two of your most important accomplishments? Could you tell us about your most important accomplishments?

How much supervision have you typically received in your previous job? How much did you have strict control over himself on previous work?

Why did you live your previous job? For what reason did you leave your last job?

What is important to you in a company? What is more important for you in the company?

Performing of work

What are your strong points for this position? What are the strengths of your character are important for this position?

How did your supervisor evaluate your job? As Chief appreciate your work?

When you have been told or discovered for yourself, a problem in your job performance? What have you typically done? Can you give me an example? When you found yourself, or you point to your mistakes in your work? How to receive? Give examples.

Do you prefer to working alone or in groups? Do you prefer to work alone or in a team?

Can you give me an example of your ability to manage or supervise others? Could you give examples of your ability manifestations management or organization of other people?

What were some of the things about your last job that you found most difficult to do? Performing duties which was the most difficult for you in a previous job?

Education

Did you give presentations during your university / college? You had public appearances during his work in the university / college?

Did you have to use any computer programs frequently at the university? Which ones? You often have to use the computer programs at the university? What are they?

What courses in school have helped the most in doing this job? What school subjects are most useful for this work?

Self-concept

What kind of things are you most confident in doing? When performing any work you feel most confident?

Can you describe for me a difficult obstacle you have had to overcome? How did you handle it? How do you feel this experience affected your personality or ability? Can you describe the most difficult situations that you had to solve? How do you handle it? How do you think this experience affected your personality or ability?

What things give you the most satisfaction at work? What gives you the most satisfaction in your work?

What things frustrate you most? How do you usually cope with them? What can upset you the most? How do you deal with this?

Creation

In your work experience, what have you done that you consider truly creative? Have you ever engaged in work that could be called truly creative?

What kind of problems have people recently called on you to solve? In case of what problems people turned to you for help?

Of your creative accomplishments, at work or at home, which have given you the most satisfaction? Performing some of the creative work, at work or at home, gave you the most satisfaction?

Outlook

Do you belong to any clubs, associations, or groups? You belong in any club, society or association?

What do you like to do in your spare time? How do you like to spend your free time?

How do you keep up with what's going on in your company / your industry / your profession / your country? How do you manage to always be up to date in your company / your industry / your profession / country?

Motivation

What is your professional goal? What are your professional goals?

When judging the performance of a subordinate or colleague, what factors or characteristics are the most important for you? What factors are critical to you in assessing the performance of a subordinate or colleague.

Requirements for work

What standards of success do you set yourself in your job? What is your success in your work?

In your position, how would you define doing a good job? How do you imagine a job well done in your office?

Leader

What approach do you take in getting people to accept your ideas or goals? How do you convince people to accept your ideas or goals?

What sort of leader do your people feel you are? Are you satisfied? How your employees appreciate your leadership skills? It suits you?

How do you get people who do not want to work together to establish a common approach to a problem? How do you make people unwilling to work as a team together to approach the problem.

Experience in public speech

Have you ever done any public or group speaking? How did it go? Have you ever participated in public speaking? How is it over?

Have you made any individual presentations recently? How did you prepare? You have carried out self-presentation? As you plan for them?

Written communication

Would you rather write a report or give a verbal report? Why? Would you prefer to make a written or oral report? Why?

What kind of writing have you done? For a group? For an individual? Which written work do you do? For the group? For individuals?

What do you think about the ongoing changes in your company operating policies? How do you feel about lasting changes in the strategy of the company's management?

What was the most significant change made in your company in the last six months which directly affected you? How successfully do you think you implemented this change? What are the most significant changes have occurred in your company that will directly affect you? On how well you cope with them?

What has been the most important idea or suggestion you have received recently from your co-workers? What is the most important idea or suggestion you received from its employees in recent years?

Stress stability

Do you feel pressure in your job / life / at school? Tell me about it. You feel the pressure at work / daily life / school? Tell us about it.

What has been the highest pressure situation you has have been under in recent years? How did you cope with it? In recent years the situation in which you can feel like the most at the pressure? How do you cope with it?

Stability and ripeness

Describe your most significant success & failure in the two last years. Describe your most outstanding success and failure over the past two years.

Think about your last review. What did your supervisor suggest needed improvement? That in the last review of your director recommended that you change about yourself?
