II. Focus on Grammar

  1. Mark the complex sentences with different types of the subordinate clause, e.g. These things are not so easy as you might imagine (p.101) (the complex sentence with the subordinate clause of comparison).

2. Analyze the sentence structure of the chapter.

IV. Focus on Writing

  1. Add new words to your list of words, connected with the topics “Education” and “University Life”.

  2. In written form translate the paragraph “Dixon switched off <…> wondering frown” (p.97) or “Yes, I’ve no doubt you are <…>, you old cockchafer ” (p.101) into Ukrainian.

  3. Do you agree that “It’s better to know the worst than go on knowing either way”? (p.102). Write a short (80 words) comment on it.

  4. Dwell on the contents of the chapters, the main idea and the problem/s being considered.
