Инфинитив в форме действительного залога (active infinitive)и страдательного залога (passive infinitive).

Когда действие, выраженное инфинитивом, совершается лицом или предметом, к которому оно относится, то употребляется инфинитив в форме Active:

I want to inform him of her arrival. - Я хочу информировать его о её приезде.

Когда же действие, выраженное инфинитивом, совершается над лицом или предметом, к которому оно относится, то употребляется инфинитив в форме Passive:

He has a great desire to be invited to the party. - Он очень хочет, чтобы его пригласили на вечер (быть приглашённым на вечер).
