Warm up questions for the verbal sub-test
In the GMAT®, the verbal sub-test comprises 41 questions, and you are allowed 75 minutes in which to attempt them. The verbal test is comprised of three sorts of questions: sentence correction, reading comprehension and critical reading. The computer will present the questions in any order, however. So be prepared, for example, for a sentence correction question to be followed by a passage and a short series of reading comprehension and critical reasoning questions.
Sentence correction questions
These questions are a test of your command of English usage. Each question comprises a sentence, all of which, or a part of which, is underlined. Below the question are five suggested answers, the first of which is an exact copy of the underlined part of the question. Your task is to identify which of the suggested answers is correct. It may be a problem of grammar, sense, style or sentence construction. Below, you will find 64 practice questions of this type:
