DEEP SEA PILOTAGE:
(1) Vessels required to use the "mandatory route lor tankers from North Hinder to the German Bight and vice versa" are relerred to 100 resolution A.486 (xii), adopted on the 19th November 1981, concerning the "Recommendation on the use of adequately qualilied Deep Sea Pilots in the North Sea, English Channel and Skagerrak".
(2)Deep Sea Pllotagt Is not compulsory.
(3)Pilot ordering: Vessels may order Deep Sea Pilotage 48h in advance via any
of the organisations listed in ENGLISH CHANNEL AND NORTH SEA. including Skagerrak . DEEP SEA PILOTS entry.
NOTIFICATION OFHAZARDOUS SUBSTANCES·WESTERSCHELDE:
(1) Masters of vessels that are loaded or have been emptied of hazardous substances. as defined in Annex 1of the Westerschelde Shipping Regulations 1990, shall report this to the Joint Nautical Authorily (GNA).
(2)Such notifICation I1lJsI be provided as follows:
(a)At least 24h before arrival inside the zone managed by the GNA, or
(b)No later than the time at which the vessel departs from its previous port of call, in the event that the destination was already known upon departure from the previous port of call and the duration of the voyage is less than 24h, or
(c)As soon as the destination is known, but no later than the point at which the
vessel enters Dutch territorial waters, if the destination was not yet known upon departure from the previous port of call or was changed during the course of the voyage
(3)Notification must take place by means of the notification form available from the GNA. The completed form must be sent to the GNAby fax to +31(0)118 472503 or by e-mail to:imolading@vts-scheIdt.neI
