Read the story and discuss it:
The motorway around Kyiv is the scene of terrible accidents, as cold or wet weather makes the road slippery. Drivers seem to be ignoring the speed restrictions. In one case a car was speeding along the road and the driver had to swerve to avoid a lorry. In another case two cars collided when one of the car’s brakes failed. The drivers were unhurt as they were wearing seatbelts, but their cars were sent straight to the scrap yard.
Look through the list and say what you should and shouldn’t do if the accident occurs:
Stop any bleeding, smoke next to a car accident, disinfect wounds, give victims a cup of coffee, call 101, 102, 103; move a person with a broken neck, keep victims warm, move people away from the area of the possible explosion, give artificial respiration, ignore the victims.
