10. Make up the dialogue.

1. Зайдите в обувной отдел магазина. Расскажите продавщице, какие туфли Вы бы хотели купить. Скажите ей, подошли ли Вам туфли, которые Вы примеряли. Заплатите за туфли и возьмите сдачу.

2. Попросите продавщицу показать вам платья разных расцветок. Скажите ей, какой вы размер носите. Выберите платье, которое Вам нравится больше всего, и заплатите за него.

3. Попросите продавца показать Вам коричневое пальто. Узнайте его стоимость. Примерьте его. Если Вам пальто не понравилось, попросите продавца показать другое.

11. Open the brackets and retell the text. A Business Transaction

One afternoon Mr. Wallis who (to live) far from the centre of London (to walk) home. It already (to get dark), when Mr. Wallis (to come) to a street where there (to be) no people. Suddenly, a man (to shop) him and (to ask) if he (to buy) a cat from him. As Mr. Wallis not (to want) to buy the cat, the man aimed his pistol at him.

“How much (to want) you for it?” (to ask) Mr. Wallis. “It’s not expensive. Five hundred pounds only,” (to be) the reply.

So Mr. Wallis (to have) to sign a cheque for 500 pounds and the man (to give) him the cat.

Several years (to pass). One day Mr. Wallis (to go shopping). When he (to call at) a small shop he recognized the man who (to sell) him the white cat several years before.

Mr. Wallis (to leave) the shop and a little later (to come back).

“I (to bring) a white cat. You (to buy) it?” (to smile) Mr. Wallis. “It is one of the lovely kittens of the white cat that you (to sell) me several years ago. I (to advise) you to buy it.” The man understood everything. He (to tell) Mr. Wallis that he (to pay) him for the cat if Mr. Wallis not (to tell) the police about it and if he never (to come) to the shop again.

“How much (to cost) it now?” he (to ask). “Seven hundred pounds,” (to answer) Mr. Wallis, “because I (to want) to get some interest (проценты) on my money”.

12. Read and retell the text. A Crowd

Mr. Dale had a large family. Once he and his wife decided to go shopping. There was a large department store just in front of their house so it did not take them long to get there. The family bought a lot of things in the store: a suit for the elder boy, dresses and hats for the elder daughters, coats and shoes for the younger ones. At last Mr. Dale who was carrying a lot of parcels left the shop. The whole family followed him out into the street.

Suddenly when they were about to cross the street, a policeman stopped the father. It was a surprise to Mr. Dale who had never expected anything like that.

“You’ll have to follow me,” said the policeman. “Why?” said Mr. Dale. “What have I done?”

“I don’t know yet what you’ve done. But I want you to tell me why a whole crowd is following you just when you are coming out of the shop with all these parcels in your hands,” said the policeman.

13. Prepare a report to the following themes:

1. Shopping. 2. Department stores. 3. Buying clothes. 4. The profession of a shop-assistant.
