1.United Kingdom.

The United Kingdom is situated the north – west coast of Europe between the Atlantic ocean and the North Sea. The U/K includes Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Great Britain contains England, Scotland and Wales. The capital of the country is London. English of the official language. The climate of Great Britain is mild. There are many rivers in Great Britain. The main river is the Thames. There many universities, Colleges, libraries museums and theatres in the country. The most famous universities are Cambridge University, Oxford University, Glasgow University. The U.K. has some mineral resources. Coal and oil are the most important of them. Agriculture takes an important sector in economy of the country. The British people grow wheat, fruit, vegetables, oats. The U.K. is a parliamentary monarchy. The British Parliament consist of two House: the House of Lords and House of Commons. The Prime Minister is the head of the government.

2.My specialty.

My name is Nastya. I finished school in 2009 year. I don’t work. I am a three-year student at the Nizhnekamsk institute of Chemical Technology. I am a night-class student. I study at the faculty of Automation and Control systems. The institute has a six- year course of study. My future profession will be an engineer programmist. There are two terms in the course of the academic year. During the terms we have to attend lectures, to carry out laboratory test, and to do practical work.

3.Our Town.

We live in Nizhnekamsk. Nizhnekamsk is a young town. It is located on the left bank of the river Kama. Nizhnekamsk was officially granted municipal status in 1996. Nizhnekamsk is an economic center. There is a chemical combine and a tyre factory in our town. A lot of goods are exported to other republics and countries. Nizhnekamsk is an educational center. Students receive higher education at nigher schools, colleges and institutes. There are a lot of secondary schools, vocational schools, institutes in our town. In our town we have many shops, markets, hospitals, cafes. We have a railway station, a bus station, an airport, a river port.

4.Our Republic.

Tatarstan is situated in the middle part of the Volga basin. The larilory is 67.8 thousand square kilometer. The climate is continental. Winters are cold, summers are rather warm. The population of the republic is more that 3,7 million people. The state languages are Tatar and Russian. The flag of Tatarstan consists of three stripes: green, white, red. Tatarstan is rich in natural recourse. The main branches of industry are oil and gas extracting, motor-car constructing and chemical industries. The main agricultural product are rye, wheat, buckwheat, potato, dairy products, ets. Kazan is the capital of our republic. It is historical, cultural, educational and industrial centre. Other big industrial cities are N. Chelny , Nizhnekamsk, Yelabyga, Almetyevsk, Mendeleyevsk.

5.Environmental Protection.

Man has been trying to make his life easier for many centuries. He invented machines and instruments. They have been working- and polluting the world we live in. There are two things that do not belong to any one country: air and water. People are concerned about the air and the water. One of the most important pollution problems is in the oceans. Many birds and fish die because of the polluted water. Lakes and rivers are getting polluted, too. The second important problem is air pollution. Cars and factories pollute the air we use. It also destroys the ozone layer. Another problem is that out forest are dying from acid rain. This in turn, affects the balance of nature. We must learn to protect the water, the air and the earth from pollution.
