  1. CHECK IN

On arrival in Neerpelt ALL PARTICIPANTS of the group are expected to check in at the reception in the marquee “Piazza Festivo” in the centre “De Peel” – Norbertinessenlaan, Neerpelt (see map 13). Everyone will personally receive a festival badge and a programme booklet. Photographers will make a photo of the entire choir. All current and necessary practical information will be handed as well.

When you can check in, depends on the formula you have chosen:

  • Formula 1: from Friday April 27 until Wednesday May 2, 2012:

  • You can check in on Friday April 27 between 10.00 and 20.00 h., unless differently mentioned upon registration.

  • Note: please check in on time, especially if you plan to participate at the opening spectacle on Friday April 27, 2012!

  • formula 2: from Friday April 27 till Monday April 29, 2012

  • You can check in on Friday April 27 between 10.00 and 20.00 h., unless differently mentioned upon registration.

  • Note: please check in on time, especially if you plan to participate at the opening spectacle on Friday April 27, 2012!

  • Formula 3: Saturday April 28, Sunday April 29 and Tuesday May 1, 2012:

  • You can check in between 08.00 and 12.00 h.

  • Note: take the hour of your jury performance into account – make sure you have enough time.

If there are unexpected changes in your travelling scheme, please contact the secretariat of the European Music Festival for Young People as soon as possible (tel.: 0032-11-662339).

  1. BUSSES

Busses have to park, before checking in, as follows:

  • On Friday April 28 2012 before 18.00 h. (see map page 12):

    • On the “kanaaldijk” (GPS Kanaalstraat) (see map 17)

    • Participants have to walk the way to the check-in on foot (250 m.)

  • On Friday April 28 after 18.00 h. and Saturday April 28 2012 before 12.00 h. (see map page 13):

    • On the parking place of the sports hall Provinciaal Domein Dommelhof (GPS Toekomstlaan 5) (see map 1) and/or Ralleylaan (see map 18).

    • Participants have to walk the way to the check-in on foot (800 m.)

  • On Saturday April 28 after 12.00 h, Sunday April 29, Monday April 30 and Tuesday May 1 2012 (see map page 14):

    • At the building of VCLB at the “Bermstraat” in Neerpelt (see map 17).

    • Participants have to walk the way to the check-in on foot (250 m.)

During the festival the “Ralleylaan” (800 m. from the centre and 200 m. from the theatre Dommelhof) (see map 18) is the place where busses can park for a long time. This route is indicated by the red arrows on the map on pages 12, 13 and 14.

NOTE: not all locations (jury performances, concerts, workshops …) are at walking distance. That is why we would like to ask your attention for the following:

  • For the groups in formulas 1 and 2: if you don’t have a bus at your disposal during the festival, you can book a festival bus BEFORE April 15th at the festival secretariat in Neerpelt. You will be charged for this bus.

  • For the groups in formula 3, we would like to ask you to have a bus at your disposal during the entire festival day.

  • For transports between the jury concert venues the festival hop on/hop off bus can be used for free. This bus will deliver a permanent connection between the 5 concert venues on Saturday April 28, Sunday April 29 and Tuesday May 1 between 12.00 and 17.30h.

  1. Accommodation (formulas 1 and 2)

After the check in at the reception desk in the Piazza Festivo, a hostess will guide you to your accommodation. May we ask you to take the following into account?

  • For the meals and the overnight stay we ONLY take into account the numbers on your invoice. This number of participants can only be changed until March 30, 2012. After this day no changes will be accepted and the amount mentioned on the invoice has to be paid.

  • Please, bring your own pillowcase, sleeping bags with sheets that cover the mattress or sheets. Blankets are available at the accommodation. Bring along bath towels as well as they will not be available. An exception is made for the groups that stay in host-families. Their linen will be provided by the host-families. Groups that are staying in the “Blauwe Meer”, “Parelstrand”, “Molenheide” and “De Lage Kempen” should bring kitchen towels as well.

  • The group’s leaders are responsible for the good order in the house.

  • Please, leave the rooms in a clean state at all times. Waste and garbage must be disposed of according to the rules of the specific location and dishes have to be done. Please check the house-rules. On the last day of your stay you have to leave the rooms BEFORE 09.00h.

  • The festival accommodates bus drivers together with the rest of the group, in the same accommodation. We provide a separate room but no separate living unit. It’s possible that sanitary facilities have to be shared with others. If bus drivers demand a separate accommodation, a supplement will be charged. The amount of this supplement depends on the price and availability of the accommodation and will be determined as soon as the demand has reached the festival secretariat (before February 15 2012 at the latest).

  • At arrival in Neerpelt, all participating choirs will be demanded to subscribe a responsibility form. With this form, costs related to eventual damages, caused by participants, and costs covering extra expenses while not complying to local regulations, will be redressed.
