Which kitchen utensils do we use to do each of the above? Choose from the list, then make up sentences, as in the example.

We can beat eggs using a whisk.

  1. Read the recipe and fill in the appropriate verbs from part a. Then talk about it using first, next, then, after that.

First, you peel the potatoes.

METHOD

  1. Peel the potatoes and cut into slices. Cook for 5 minutes in salted boiling water. Drain thoroughly.

Poach the fish in 75 ml of milk and then separate into flakes.

Wash and 2)……………….. the leeks into small pieces and then fry in the butter.

To make the cheese sauce:

Melt the butter in a pan then
