THE IDEA:

to present the current state in the functioning of scientific/educational programs for national minorities at the secondary schools in Ukraine, to initiate the discussion concerning elaboration of

Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree programs in the history and culture of national minorities, to propose methodological approaches for constructing of these programs, to embrace the possibilities of adaptation of foreign experiences in Ukraine in this sphere

INNOVATIVE SEMINAR «EVALUATION OF SCIENTIFIC/EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS FOR NATIONAL MINORITIES»

FOUNDERS:

Center for Evaluation of Scientific, Educational and Social Programs (Kyiv, Ukraine) was established in 2008 as non-governmental organization (NGO) by specialists in the field of social sciences

and administration. Its main aims are: preparation, assessment and support of scientific, educational and social programs, as well as research projects, that are financing by the state and sponsor resources; formation of evaluation culture in Ukraine; researches in the sphere of evaluation, training, development of Master’s degree programs and consulting of research projects; support for obtaining the Master’s and doctoral (Ph.D.) degrees from foreign universities; development of pilot Master’s degree programs in social sciences and administration; organization of studies, courses, trainings for managers of programs and projects, scientific and practical seminars, conferences, “round tables”; consulting concerning scientific publications in Europe and America.

SHEI “Pereyaslav-Khmelnytskyi Hryhoriy Skovoroda State

Pedagogical University” (Pereyaslav-Khmelnytskyi, Ukraine). University with the 4th level of accreditation. History of the University begins in 1986, when the University started to operate in the status as the branch of the O. Gorkyi Kyiv State Pedagogical Institute. By the Regulation of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine 24 November, 1993 on the basis of the branch Pereyaslav-Khmelnytskyi State Pedagogical

Institute was founded. 1 December 1994 Institute was named after great Ukrainian philosopher Hryhoriy Skovoroda. In 2002 Pereyaslav-Khmelnytskyi Hryhoriy Skovoroda State Pedagogical Institute received the status of University. Today University educates students in 8 branches of knowledge and in 23 specialties of Bachelor degree; in 8 branches of knowledge and in 22 specialties of Specialist degree; in 9 branches of knowledge and in 22 specialties of Master degree. In the structure of University there are 7 faculties, department of pre-university and post-graduate education, with approximately 5 thousand students, 4 educational-scientific-production and 14 educational complexes. The postgraduate studies function within 13 postdoctoral studies within 3 specialties. The educational process at the University is provided by 29 departments that include over 70 % of scientific-pedagogical staff with academic degrees and scientific ranks.

Institute for Sociology, Psychology and Social Communications of the National Pedagogical Dragomanov University (Kyiv, Ukraine) was established in 2007 and today is successfully functioning and developing. The Institute prepares the specialists in the following directions and specialties: sociology (“sociology of education”, “social communications”, “evaluation of the scientific/educational programs”); psychology (“psychology of consultation”, “social psychology and psychotherapy”, “political psychology”). In 2009 the scientific journal “International Scientific Forum: Sociology, Psychology, Pedagogy,

Management” was founded. At the Institute the Ukrainian-Polish Center “European Studies”, Center of “Ethnoglobalistics”, Center of “Television and Public Communication” are created, as well as the establishment of sociological and psychological laboratories, the work of which will be the basis of “Social-Psychological Center” of the Institute, is planned. The postgraduate study on psychological sciences (“Age and Pedagogical Psychology”) and sociological sciences (“Special and Branch Sociologies”) is available.
