Present Simple

(Настоящее простое время)

Present Simple употребляется:

1) для обозначения обычных, регулярных, повторяющихся действий в настоящем времени;

I come from Murmansk.

We live in Kaliningrad.

He works as a lawyer.

It often rains in autumn.

2) для констатации реальных фактов:

The earth goes round the sun.

Water boils at 100 degrees centigrade.

Most of the shops close at 7.00 p.m.

3) для обозначения действий, которые произойдут в будущем, но были запланированы заранее (т.е. когда мы говорим о расписании, театре, кино, общественном транспорте и т.д., но не о личных встречах).

What time does the film begin?

The train leaves in an hour.

Tomorrow is Wednesday.

Present Simple используется со следующими наречиями и фразами:

always - всегда frequently - часто

usually - обычно every week/year/day – каждую неделю(год, день)

sometimes - иногда twice a day/month – дважды в день (месяц)

often - часто seldom - редко

rarely – редко generally - обычно

from time to time – время от времени

occasionally - время от времени, порой, иногда

as a rule – как правило

Отрицательная и вопросительная формы образуются с помощью вспомогательного глагола do/does.

he/she/it doesn't work/come

* I come from Canada. Where do you come from?
