When Toby was a toddler, his grandmother would do the childcare most days. His father would shout at Toby, but then the kid would burst into tears and his mother would comfort him.

He would’ve been arrested for getting into the confrontation with one of his mates at the friend’s party. If he had been a bit calmer, he wouldn’t have got hurt.

I’d imagine Toby would be detained and after a while he would be freed. May be his parents would get a fine.

I would advise Toby to be calmer and try not to fight with each person he doesn’t like. What about his ex-girlfriend, I’d advise her to forgive Toby for his behavior. And also I would say to Toby to speak with his «enemy» and make a peace.
