Lisa works(work) for an engineering company. Last week she

Arrived (arrive) to work early and (catch up) on checking her email. There were (be) not many people in the office, so she was (be) able to get a lot of work done. While she was working(work), she was receiving (receive) a phone call. The caller was (be) a man who said (say) he has (have) her job before she starts (start) working there. He leaves (leave) his engineering position in order to become a manager. He told (tell) her that he needed to ask her for a favor because he doesn’t have (not, have) time to contact all of his coworkers before he (quit) that position.

Lisa thought that he should have contacted all his coworkers before he became become a manager, but she didn’t tell not, tell him that. The mysterious man asked her to give him some email addresses. Lisa didn’t think this was a good idea, so she put him on hold. She decided to ask her boss, but her boss hadn’t arrived yet. Eventually, the strange man hung up the phone, but he called back again and again. By the time her boss got to the office, the man had called her 3 times. She felt frustrated. When she talked to her boss about the problem, he instructed her to tell him immediately next time the man contacted her. However, the man hasn’t called again.

Later, her boss asked her, “Has the man called yet?” . “No”, she replied . I have been sitting at my desk for the last 3 hours, and the phone hasn’t rung not, ring . The man must have given up . I can’t keep waiting at my desk. By the time my lunch break comes, I will have been in this office for six hours.”

“Why have you been here so long?” her boss asked her.

“I came come to the office early because I needed needto check my email,” she replied. “You should take your break now,” he told her. “I can see that your back hurting you right now because you have been sitting here since 6:00 this morning. Come talk to me after your break. I’ll be sitting at my desk when you finish.”
