Sir Winston Leonard Spencer-Churchill

Lord Winston Churchill was born in November 1874 in the aristocratic family (descendant of the first duke Malboro). He was the prime minister of Great Britain, one of the leaders of the anti-Hitler coalition.

In the young years he was not characterized by special diligence and talent. He learned badly at school, for that he often took punishment from the teachers. With great work Churchill finished Royal military school.

After entering into the army in 1895, he took part in the military expeditions to India and Sudan. But he understood that military career was not for him, and he decided to try himself as war correspondent.

When he returned to England, he dedicated himself to political activity. Churchill entered into the history as one of the greatest speakers of peace.

In 1940, when Great Britain was threatened with World War II, Churchill was elected prime minister. Churchill was brave and inspired people to the fight with Germany. He told the people: “I have nothing to give you, only blood, sweat, tears and hard work”.

In July 1945 Churchill give in the resignation, but he did not end his political activity. He is the author of the expression “the Iron Curtain”. In 1955 Churchill went away from the political activity.

He devoted himself to literature and got success in it. The most known books are: “The second world war” ; “A of history of the English-speaking of peoples” ; “The world of crisis” .

Winston Churchill is the author of many known aphorisms.
