CEF quick brief

Though the reference levels in the Common European Framework suggest that students progress 'vertically', from B1 to B2, etc., the Framework itself says that 'learninga language is a matter of horizontal as well as vertical progression'.This means that some learners might like to move from B11evel in a business context to B2 level in a tourist context. The CEF identifies four basic 'domains' that help to understand this horizontal language development: the public domain, the personal domain,

the educational domain and the occupational domain.
